Exhibition Opening – Vois Moi! (See Me) – CANCELLED

Calling all art lovers!

Join us for some wine and art – a perfect combination for a spectacular exhibition!

We are very pleased to present the opening of an exhibition born from the collaboration of Ecole Boulle (France) and the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture of the University of Johannesburg, supported by the French Institute in South Africa and the Alliance Française of Johannesburg

The ambition of the See Me project, taking the mask as an object of study, is to produce a reflection borrowing from several design methodologies (that of design and that of art) to explore and enrich the subject first, in contact with professionals (designers and artists) to achieve a production in the field of event design and scenography: See Me is a self contained traveling exhibition in 4 flycases shipped to partner schools. 4 masks made of paper are exhibited, accompanied by videos accessible by flash code. An extra satellite to the flycases displays the model and the book of the project. All material elements were designed and produced in the workshops of École Boulle by our students.
The exhibition See Me incapsulates both hope and desire to see École Boulle and FADA work side by side and develop strong connections allowing exchanges of all kinds for the benefit of all students. Young designers getting to know each others, changing perspectives about society and how to have a positive impact on it, bringing back home knowledge and experience in order to create a more desirable and innovative future. The scenography of the exhibition created by our students of the DSAA EEM explores the various metaphors of connections between the words See, Me, You and Move, generating new poetic sentences for each new display.

EXHIBITION DATES

The Exhibition will be open to the public from the 19th of March.

The Opening will be on Wednesday evening, the 18th of February at the Alliance Française in Johannesburg. The Opening will start at 18:00 and will be followed by a free concert of the band Les Fils du Facteur (from Switzerland)

The exhibition will close on the 28th of March.
