Our beloved teacher, Maniga Oua dies.

We are saddened to share the news of the death of our beloved friend and colleague, Maniga Oua who has been a teacher at the Alliance Francaise of Johannesburg since 2002. Our sincere condolences go to his family and friends in South Africa & Ivory Coast. We will miss you Maniga, rest in peace.

Fête de la Musique is back..

The Fête de la Musique is back on 19 June 2021 with a new and exciting set-up. We are looking for musical acts to perform!

This year’s festival will take place in 4 different neighbourhoods of Johannesburg and Soweto on the same day. These intimate concerts will cater for smaller crowds while continuing to celebrate free music for all to enjoy. If you’re a singer, DJ or part of a band (amateur or professional) apply now for the opportunity to perform live.

‘IN SEARCH’ art exhibition will be opening on the 17th of February 2021.

The Alliance Francaise of Johannesburg and the Southern African Foundation For Contemporary Art (SAFFCA) is delighted to present the first art exhibition to open the Gerard Sekoto Gallery for 2021. The exhibition with art works from Mfundo Mthiyane and Lindo Zwane will be from 17 February to 20 March 2021. You can visit the exhibition at 17 Lower Park Drive, Corner Kerry Road,Parkview on Monday to Friday 9:30am – 5pm and on Saturdays 9:30am – 12:00am.

Opening nights will be on 17 & 19 February 2021 from 5:30PM to 8:00PM. Wine will be served. RSVP upon arrival. COVID-19 HEALTH REGULATIONS APPLY.
